WHO WE ARE

Funded by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, the Gulf Scholars Program is a branch of the Gulf Research Program, focused on creating the next generation of changemakers in the Gulf Region.

The large-scale, complex problems for our Gulf Coast regions and communities require equity-minded, collaborative, and accessible intervention. The UCF Gulf Scholars Program centers transdisciplinary scholarship, team based learning, community partnership, and climate justice in order to activate change makers in all disciplines who are passionate about addressing these issues.

In the 2023-2024 academic year UCF has eight Gulf Scholars, as well a strong team of faculty and graduate students supporting the project and supporting us in creating change.

WHAT WE DO

Eight Scholars. One Mission.

As Gulf Scholars, we work in partnership with Gulf Coast communities and organizations to help usher in impactful change. Over the past year, we experienced intensive training about issues in the Gulf Region, how to collaborate with professionals and communities, and project development. Over the course of this program, we focused our passion into the projects being implemented this summer. With the support of UCF faculty, industry professionals, and a network of other students in their own Gulf Scholars Programs, we are prepared to give our all and create real change in the Gulf Region.
